Considered to be the first cereal grain cultivated by humans, the uses of barley date back to 7000 BC. New Zealand Wheatgrass has a longer history than the product from other countries and has developed a higher quality and purity perception amongst consumers. Barley Grass powder is produced from the young, leafy growth of the Barley plant. Discovered as a superfood during agricultural research in the 1930s, today it is renowned globally as a dietary supplement due to its wide range of nutrients.
Processing
Our Barley Grass is organically grown on the fertile plains in New Zealand. Barley Grass is harvested whilst the plant is still young at its nutritional peak. The grass is dried within 6 hours of being harvested. Once the raw material has been dehydrated, it is then milled into a fine powder. It takes 5kg of fresh leaves to produce 1kg of powder.

Allergens
100% pure Organic Barley Grass, sourced from New Zealand, with no binders, fillers, colours or preservatives added. Sevenhills Wholefoods products do not contain any substances causing allergies (Directive 2007/68/EC) as ingredients or by the possibility of cross-contamination. The only exceptions is all cereal grasses (wheat & barley products) and kernel powder.
Wheat and barley grasses are free of allergens as ingredients. However, there is a remote possibility of cross-contamination by gluten if the farmer allows wheat and barley to begin developing seeds. Our farmers monitor the growth of the leaves to eliminate this risk, hence we consider our products Gluten Free. Also Dairy Free and registered by the Vegan Society.
Suggested Used
Add 1-2 teaspoons (5g) to water, juice, a protein shake or a smoothie. Alternatively, mix with savoury sauces or salad dressings.
I used to buy this via amazon, but don't have it on stock, so went direct to seller. Its just as easy to order, and delivery is just as good as prime members on amazon. The product is good quality as well, I tried one from EU and from China before but so far this one is the best, pricey but well worth it. I have been using barley grass for about five years now and can't do without it, for my cholesterol so far its working slow but surely
