Judge comments:

"The judges found this coarsely-milled hemp seed and husk appealing. It is lightly coloured with a clean fresh aroma. The taste is light and clean, with some sweet notes and a creamy long finish. Creamy texture with a gentle bite. Delicious, the judges would be happy to have this on porridge, over yogurt or as a dip or coating.

These seeds are inviting visually, with various hues from the shelled seeds and a consistent texture. On the palate they were buttery in mouthfeel and rich in flavour: we appreciated this especially as they were unseasoned and untoasted. We could imagine multitudinous uses in the kitchen.

These tiny shelled seeds have a speckled appearance from the small residue of shell. The flavour is remarkablly nutty and rich for such a plain-looking seed. They are surprisingly delicious, with a pleasant depth of flavour and texture."
