Blue Spirulina Powder

Blue Spirulina is is an extract of the spirulina algae (a blue-green algae) active ingredient phycocyanin in its purest form. It is one of the most important phytopigments of Spirulina algae and is contained exclusively in blue-green algae. It can be used as a food ingredient or to colour a wide variety of foods blue effortlessly and without any chemicals. Blue Spirulina is high in protein. Various studies have demonstrated that it also has anti-inflammatory properties. Due to its antioxidative potential it helps protect cells from the damage caused by free radicals, unstable molecules that are made during normal cell metabolism.

Our spirulina is grown in freshwater ponds in the South China Sea in an environmentally pristine area far from industrial activity, under strict conditions of purity where conditions are constantly observed. Our Blue Spirulina powder is a premium grade product. It is an extract of the spirulina algae active ingredient phycocyanin in its purest form. This product is not to be confused with the regular spirulina which is green in colour. We use E18, a very stable grade for variety of uses including as a food ingredient and food colourant. Add a nutritional boost and vibrant colour to smoothies, lattes, confectionery, ice cream, cakes, yogurts. Great for use as a natural blue food dye.

Processing:

Our spirulina is grown in freshwater ponds in the northwest area of China in an environmentally pristine area far from industrial activity, under strict conditions of purity where conditions are constantly observed. The algae is harvested and dried in a special spray technique that preserves the nutrients and during which no cell capable of producing BMAA can survive.

Suggested Use:

Add 1 to 2 tablespoons to shakes, smoothies or breakfast bowls.
