Coconut Flour is a by-product of the manufacture of coconut milk, found as the remaining pulp-content, once the milk has been removed. Sourced from the ideal tropical climate in Sri Lanka, Sevenhills Wholefoods’ Coconut Flour has a famous, subtle, nutty odour that is enjoyed around the world as an organic alternative to regular flour. Our ‘dry method’ processing boasts maximum fibre retention and produces an end product exceptionally high in protein.
Our Organic coconuts are harvested and husked and deshelled to reveal the coconut 'meat'. Excess coconut water is removed and the remaining meat is shredded before being dried at 5-55 degrees celsius. This is then cold-pressed where the Coconut oil is extracted. The remaining material is ground into a fine powder to create Coconut Flour.
- Organic coconut flour is a natural source of Protein and Fibre. Unlike processed white flour, Coconut flour has been used to benefit the body's metabolism and aid digestion.
- With a sweet coconutty cake, it adds depth to baking. Coconut flour can not be used as a 1:1 substitute to ordinary flour as it is more absorbable.
