Organic Raw Maqui Berry Powder

Maqui berries are small, dark purple fruit found on trees growing in the Patagonia region of Chile and Argentina. Also known as the ‘Chilean Wineberry’, Sevenhills Wholefoods’ Maqui Berries have a similar taste to blackberries and are extracted from an exclusive annual yield of only 90 tons, due to the area’s remote access and difficulty for transportation.

While it has been a part of local diets for many years, the berry has recently gained a world-wide reputation as an excellent source of antioxidants – even rivalling Acai berry.

Processing

Our Maqui berries are harvested in Chile where they are then sanitized and freeze-dried to preserve their nutritional content. The freeze-dried fruits are then milled and sieved before packaged.

Suggested Use

We recommend adding 1-2 teaspoons of the powder to milk, juice or a smoothie.
