Bring a little colour to your autumn baking with these beautiful Autumn Leaf Cookies, naturally coloured using our favourite superfood powders.
Ingredients
Method
1. Make the Dough
Add the flour, butter, maple syrup, golden caster sugar, eggs and vanilla essence to a large mixing bowl. Mix until the ingredients come together to form a soft cookie dough.
2. Divide & Colour
Divide the dough evenly into five portions. Add one of the natural powders to each portion, gently kneading until evenly combined and the colour is consistent throughout.
3. Roll & Cut
Lightly flour your work surface and roll out each coloured dough portion. Use autumn leaf-shaped cookie cutters to cut out your biscuits, or choose any shapes you like.
For a beautiful autumn display, try arranging different shades together to create a colourful mix of cookies.
4. Bake
Place the cookies onto a lined baking tray and bake at 160°C for around 8 minutes, or until lightly baked through. Keep an eye on them as baking times can vary depending on the thickness of your cookies.
Allow to cool before serving.
Natural Autumn Colours
The best part of these cookies is the beautiful range of colours created using natural powders:
🍂 Cacao - deep chocolate brown
🌸 Beetroot - vibrant pink-red
💜 Ube - beautiful purple
🌞 Turmeric - warm golden yellow
🌿 Matcha - earthy green
Together, they create a gorgeous autumn-inspired colour palette without the need for artificial food colouring.
